Brighton Adventure

These pictures were donated by Ben Russell, Thanks Ben! Brighton was open a week longer after our season ended here at Big Sky; which means everyone from here went to Brighton. It was crazy-like being in a mirrored dimension with everyone we know but living in a completely different world. We all stayed in the dorm lodging on the mountain. After a day of fun in the sun, we stuffed as many beers as we could in our jackets and pants and got on a lift. Traversed over to a secluded ridge that separated the mtn from backcountry. (We are looking out towards the backcountry). More and more people started showing up and it became a ridgeline party! Some snowmobilers were raging up and down the backcountry side so we started cheering for them to do something cool; when all of a sudden one kid strapped into his board and rode down to them (hoping to get a ride back-because it's a LONG hike out!). Once we saw him get on the back of the snowmobile we all started screaming and cheering!!! And then, they charged up the face to our ridgeline...when I say charged, I mean full forced with a turbo engine-charged. The snowmobiler drops the guy off and points it down the vert face and drops in. We thought that was the highlight of the day, getting all drunk and seeing a cool stunt like that.....until all three snowmobilers decide to give us a show! They (65 year old men-mind you) came charging up and practically jumped over us from going so fast straight up the face. They stopped to say hi before heading back down. We all started looking at everyone else wondering if they felt the same way-that they just saw the coolest thing ever!!!!! Anyway, the ridgeline was gorgeous-you could see for miles it was so clear, we even saw Salt Lake City. Just sitting back and relaxing with a few beers and a front row seat to the most beautiful sites-I'm sorry but you couldn't ask for more. Ok maybe I could-Utah has some weird people and bizarre alcohol laws-something could be done about that!!!(kidding). I feel blessed.
